MHS Home Deliveries

Home Visits

Our friendly support workers provide regular home visits to older members of the community, offering companionship, conversation, and a caring presence. These visits help break up the day, reduce feelings of loneliness, and foster meaningful social connections, bringing warmth and connection to the day.

Whether it’s a chat over a cup of tea or simply a friendly face at the door, we’re here to make sure no one feels alone.

We also deliver Meals on Wheels to homes in selected areas on the outskirts of Westmeath, ensuring nutritious meals reach those who need them most.

Ironing Service Mullingar

Located at 3 Bishopsgate Street, Mullingar, our trusted ironing service has been serving the community since 2002. 

Simply drop off your freshly washed and dried clothing, and our experienced team will return them perfectly pressed and ready to wear.

Opening Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM. Closed on bank holidays

Our Mission

Our Mission is to support older people in the community.
We want to empower and support older people in our community—enhancing their quality of life through care, connection, and compassion.

Governed by the Board of Management

Mullingar Homecare Services follows the six core principles governing charities:

  1. Advancing charitable purpose – how the charity fits into one or more of the four categories of ‘charitable purpose’ as defined in the Charities Act, 2009;
  2. Behaving with integrity – setting an ethical culture and tone;
  3. Leading People – providing leadership to volunteers, employees and contractors;
  4. Exercising control – putting mechanisms in place to abide by all legal and regulatory requirements
  5. Working effectively – induction training for Board members and running efficient Board meetings, having people with the right mix of skills and experience; and
  6. Being accountable and transparent – accounting for the money (including producing unabridged financial statements) and being open/transparent about all charity matters.

Under the Rural Development Plan, Mullingar Homecare Services receives funding from Pobal Community Services Programme (CSP), supporting community businesses to provide local services and create employment opportunities for disadvantaged people.
We are deeply grateful for the generous support we’ve received, also from Westmeath Community Development, Westmeath County Council and the HSE. Their partnership/grants help us continue providing essential services to older people in our community, making a real difference in their daily lives.
